We do a lot more than just trucking. At Gana Trucking & Excavating, we have crews operating heavy equipment, excavating job sites, and working in the shop around the clock. Without each team members’ hard work and expertise in each department, we wouldn’t be where we are today.
Heavy Equipment Operators
The heavy equipment operators literally clear the way for our projects. At Gana, we have 75 operators all of whom have a 30-hour guarantee. Our heavy equipment operators are highly skilled technicians who run a variety of industrial equipment on our job sites — anything from excavators to scrapers, track loaders, bulldozers, motor graders, skid loaders, mini excavators, and tractors. Without a doubt, operators must multitask various skills throughout their day to be successful. At any given time, they’re monitoring and adjusting equipment gauges and dials, coordinating with other workers on the job site, and troubleshooting problems. They hold many responsibilities besides operating equipment, like making sure safety policies and procedures are being met, ensuring that the equipment and job site are well-maintained, and completing required paperwork and reporting.
Mechanics
The mechanics keep our fleet operating smoothly and safely. They are responsible for maintaining and repairing both our trucks and heavy equipment. Our repair shop is located in Roca, but we also have a mobile service where technicians can come to workers while on the road or at a job site. As listed previously, our operators work with a long list of equipment, so our mechanics have experience working with it all. Their daily tasks involve diagnostics, inspections, repair, and general maintenance. Through it all, they exhibit qualities of knowledge, problem-solving, and communication. We currently have an elite team of eight, but we’re looking to grow this department by at least two more experienced mechanics.
