As a new graduate of trucking school, it’s easy to get discouraged when job ad after job ad requires years of experience. Trucking Programs
While we’ll consider new drivers from anywhere, we have been highly pleased by the Professional Truck Driver Training at Southeast Community College in Milford, NE. The quality of drivers who graduate from this program is unparalleled to any other school, and it sets drivers up for success. We have found that SCC offers a longer program, which gives students the opportunity to have more road and classroom time. While it’s a longer commitment than most other programs, it allows drivers the chance to get comfortable behind the wheel and on the road. The training emphasizes teaching students professionalism, reliability, communication, and safety. We have seen these qualities at firsthand in the newly graduated drivers we have hired.

Joel Uttecht, who was recently featured on our Facebook page, is a prime example of an exceptional driver from SCC. After working at Graham Tire for six years, Joel decided to enroll into SCC’s truck driver training at 39 years old. Immediately after graduating, he joined the team at Gana. Even though it was his first job as a professional truck driver, he showed a strong work ethic and dedication. We’re grateful that we hired Joel, and others with a similar experience, straight out of driving school. It’s been a great opportunity for our company to mentor drivers and build loyalty from the start.
