Mike Evans has been a Truck Driver for Gana for six and a half years. His favorite part of his job is being out on the road. He enjoys being able to travel across the state and see new places. Over the years, he has grown to love the challenging jobs he’s worked on. Some projects are quite complex and difficult to maneuver in and out of. His mindset is that as long as the work is hard, it’s never boring!
When describing Gana, he said that it’s very unique in the trucking industry. It’s a family-oriented company, and the employees feel like they are a part of a team. It’s a great place to build a career because there’s a lot of room for advancement. It’s typical to have one or more promotion opportunities throughout the year. Terry Pratt has been a Material Delivery Driver for Gana for thirteen years. His favorite part of his job is spreading materials in driveways, but he truly enjoys all the projects that he gets to work on. It’s always a new challenge! A favorite memory of his is getting callbacks from previous customers asking specifically for him. And if there’s a line, they’ll wait for him until he’s available.
When asked to describe Gana, he said “I love working here. I love my job.” without missing a beat. The owners and the employees are fantastic and easy to work with. When you do a good job, they’ll treat you well. For example, if you need to take time off, management is flexible and will work with your schedule without any extra hassle.
Terry explained a new initiative that Gana has implemented, “Guaranteed 40-Hours A Week”. Despite being in the midst of Nebraska’s unpredictable weather of rain or snow, Gana is willing to find the work and give all employees the opportunity to work 40-hours even if a project is halted due to weather. It just shows that Gana is committed to going above and beyond to take care of its employees. Overall, it’s a very good company to work for. Gana is better than your average job.
