Next up is Terry Pratt! Terry Pratt has been a driver for Gana Trucking and Excavating for about 13 years. He is a material delivery driver and spends most of his time delivering materials to construction job sites, driveways, or the railroad.
Before working at Gana, Terry worked in building maintenance for many years but was ready for a career change. He remembered that as a kid he always dreamed of driving a truck, so he enrolled in the Professional Truck Driver Training program at Southeast Community College and got his Class A CDL. He worked for one company before Gana, but eventually came across our company and was quickly hired.
When asked what his favorite part of his job is, he says he enjoys the work that he does and the people are the best. Craig, the owner, is fantastic to “work with, not for” as he likes to say! Additionally, he’s always glad to hear when a return customer asks for him specifically. It just goes to show the pride and dedication that Terry puts into every job.
If someone is interested in becoming a truck driver, he would encourage them to apply at Gana now! Not only is it a great work environment, but they treat you well with benefits. He mentioned that Gana offers a “Guaranteed 40 Hours,” in which you get paid 40 hours whether the weather allows you to or not. This is a rare benefit and is quite considerate of management because there’s a lot of unpredictable midwest weather.
